Hazardous Waste lamps will be regulated under the Federal Universal Waste Rule. The Rule was originally developed to regulate the disposal of other widely generated wastes that contain toxic materials, such as batteries and pesticides.

Soon all Wolff® system tanning lamps will be classified as solid waste, not hazardous waste, which may allow salons to dispose of them without taking them to a recycling center.
